Summer is here! And what better way to beat the heat then to stay inside with your favorite scent. What!? You don’t have a favorite scent? Well that’s perfect, we have some of our summer favorites for you to check out.
One of the favorites here at Scents & Sprays is Salt City’s Garden Lilac. The lilac, lavender and jasmine combined, form an amazing aroma. It’s not like any other floral we have. The fragrant perfume of lilacs reminds us of that first bloom in the garden. The floral scents mingle together in perfect harmony. The Garden Lilac scent is available in the 26 oz. jar, which burns 120-140 hours. The melter tiles burn about 50-60 hours and the diffuser lasts about 1-2 months.
This is one of the best scented candles! The delicious juicy pineapple scent with just a hint of cilantro satisfies every sense. The Pineapple Cilantro frosted jar candle is the best selling fragrance by Illume. Illume is known for its vibrancy in both fragrance and color. Their candles are part soy based and are blended with essential oils. It is available in the 8.5 oz. frosted jar and also the 3×6 pillar candle . The cotton and paper-core wicks, make these clean-burning candles which have delighted and inspired for more than 10 years.
Another Summer scent we love here at Scents & Sprays is the Fiji by Archipelago. It is an exotic, sweet scent. The coconut, sugar cane and lemon leaf meld together flawlessly. Fragrance of the Moment: Grapefruit!
Why did we choose grapefruit, you might wonder? Grapefruit is not only a great citrus fragrance for the coming warm months, but it also curbs your appetite. That’s right folks, swimsuit season is on the way, and we all want to look our best. Why not get a grapefruit scented candle to help curb those hunger pangs.
What do we suggest? Grapefruit Muguet by Belle Fleur. Belle Fleur combines beautiful muguet, which is lily of the valley, with grapefruit to create a floral, fruity aroma that’s perfect for the kitchen, living room… anywhere really!

If you have been to our site lately (Or even our Facebook or Twitter pages), you may have noticed a lot of talk about the three new Trapp fragrances. These candles are the new Spring 2011 scents created by Trapp. With a floral, fruity, and woody candle, there is something to offer everyone in these great new candles! So let’s break down the amazing quality of each one.
Pure Peony : It’s been awhile since I have smelled a Peony scent that I enjoyed this much. If you love light floral scents, you will be a huge fan of this one. Personally, I have never been a huge fan of floral fragrances. Pure Peony, however, is definitely an exception. When burned, this candle creates an exotic aroma you need to smell to enjoy.
Yuzu & Bonsai : A very interesting addition to the Trapp line. Yuzu is a fruit in the citrus family, creating a nice lemon base to the fragrance. The bonsai adds a green touch, making you think of a large citrus tree. The entire candle makes me picture a field full of trees with ripe, citrus fruit ready to be enjoyed.

All About Diptyque Candles!
Diptyque candles are always a favorite in store and online for us here at Scents & Sprays. So, we figured they deserved to be highlighted in our Blog today.
What makes Diptyque special? Is it the unique scents unlike any other? The hand crafting that goes into each and every product they create? Or perhaps the elegant design elements that date back to the beginning of the company?

St. Patrick’s Day is approaching quickly, and I hope everyone has their green outfits ready! Candles are a great way to get in the spirit for this holiday. If you love green, these candles will be ideal for you all year round!
Diptyque’s Figuier Vert is the perfect shade of green to get everyone in that St. Patty’s spirit, and the fig scent is perfect for this time of year. Another great idea is the Archipelago Tuscany 4×6 Pillar candle. This green one is beautiful and a great decor piece.

Aquiesse Candles
Aquiesse is a line we love for a number of reasons: every product they come out with is beautifully packaged and has a unique scent that can’t be easily duplicated.
Let’s talk about the packaging first. Each box has an embossed cream covering: proof they don’t cut corners when it comes to appearance. Once you open the box and see the product, there is further proof of their dedication to brand image. The glass is thick cut, tinted, and bears a medallion with the brand symbol on it. Aquiesse offers the look of an extremely expensive candle at a reasonable price.
The candles themselves are beautifully scented, and the soy blend wax they use guarantees a long, even burn. The majority of our products are either candles or diffusers, but there is a small section we have overlooked: bath and body! Three of our brands sell amazing bath & body products that I felt had to be shared!
First up, SoapRocks. The worst thing about so many soaps on the market is the way they dry out your skin. Soap Rocks are great because they are the perfect decoration for the bathroom, and they won’t be as harsh as other soaps on your body. They come in tons of colors, which makes them perfect for any home.
The Thymes offers a multitude of bath & body products that we absolutely love. Each line consists of hand and body lotions, hand and body soaps, bubble bath and bath salts. With a candle to go with each line, a relaxed, exotic bathroom is only a step away. If you really need to relax after a hard day, I’d suggest The Thymes Lavender line to relax your mind and body.
Finally, the height of luxury bath oils, Loree Rodkin. From Michelle Obama to Elton John, her couture jewelry has been worn by hundreds of celebrities. She is well known in the fashion industry, and has put the same dedication into her home fragrance line. The bath oil is scented to match her signature candle, and luxury has never been quite so wonderful. A small splash of bath oil will leave your bathroom and body smelling amazing.

Friday’s are the perfect days for outings to the park and lunch with old friends. Are you stuck in the office while everyone else is out doing these things? Yeah, us too. Want some of the sunshine stuck inside with you? We are here to help!
Some places are not okay with burning a candle in the office. “But boss, why?? I know I have papers all over my desk and it’s an extreme fire hazard, but I need my candles!!” Not to worry, I’ve come up with a few products perfect for just that occasion.
If it’s a candle you’re set on, Candle Warmers are a great way to release the scent without having to risk burning the office down. The candle warmers we sell all light the candles from the top, so the candle melts exactly as it normally would. Plus, they come in quite a few styles, so you can probably find one to match your decor as well!
Another great alternative is, of course, diffusers. Sunflower by Aquiesse comes in beautiful hand-blown glass that looks great and makes even the smallest of office spaces seem like a field full of sunshine. Also, as long as you take care of the diffuser properly (see the blog focused on diffusers), it should give you quite a few months of wonderful scent.

Diffuser Day!
There are tons of diffusers on the market, and sometimes it’s hard to tell what makes a good one. Our goal is to provide only the best products for our customers. Many of the cheaper diffusers are made with a large amount of alcohol and very little fragrance oils. These types of diffusers are really only good for those people that want to stand with their nose directly above the reeds at the perfect angle to enjoy the fragrance.
For the rest of us (or all of us I would hope), we want a diffuser with a little more to it. Currently I have a diffuser in my kitchen (Votivo Clean Crisp White, to be exact), and when guests come in they not only notice it immediately but, knowing where I work, they want to know what candle it is. Most of the time, when I mention it is a diffuser they look at me like I must be kidding. This is because they have never tried a quality diffuser. What better way to sell my guests on our products!
Now, I know you are dying to leave this blog and purchase your favorite candle in diffuser form, but stick with me and you will learn how to make your diffuser last as long as possible.
Each diffuser we sell comes with the fragrance oils, a set of reeds, and the glass container. When your diffuser is first set up, put the reeds in the oil for about 5 minutes, and then flip them over. You will want to continue to flip the reeds about once a week or so. If you don’t, the oils can clog the reeds, and they will stop releasing the fragrance into the air. If you find a few months in that you are flipping the reeds, but the fragrance just isn’t as strong as before, try getting a set of replacement reeds. It’s commonly mistaken that once the oils get low there is no fragrance left. This is definitely not the case. As long as there are oils in the glass, you should be able to smell them!
Once you do run out of oils, sadly this is inevitable, many of our brands sell convenient refills. These have the same amount of oils, with a set of replacement reeds. The refills are perfect because you can stick with the same scent you love, or clean out the glass and try something completely new without having to buy a whole new diffuser!
